Driving Home the Obvious

Image
( source ) I feel like a bit of a prick pointing this out, as this piece is conveying very sad news, but having said that, you have to remember that this is Channel 9, not some ropey personal blog such as the one you're currently reading. Wouldn't this headline have scanned better as Two killed in Perth horror crash ? Literacy doesn't seem to be this reporter's strong point. If that's the case, and it shouldn't be, whatever happened to the copy editor?

A Must to Avoid?

Shirkout

It's here! An exercise pill for the apathetic. Mind you, you will have to get off the couch to make that long, arduous journey to the medicine cabinet, so that could be a potential turn-off for some, but for others this concoction could be a godsend. The Grammarly Backlash Begins Here

The college student in the above video claims she used Grammarly as a proofreading tool, but her professor wasn't buying it. Ironically or hypocritically, depending on where you stand in this situation, it sounds like AI was used to grade her submission. Looking at the following screenshot, her claims could be legitimate. Grammerly   Granmerly   Grammarly The artificial intelligence backlash has begun in earnest with the word on the street being that the guy from the Grammarly ad has taken to wearing Depend® underwear as a result of this turn of events. Of course, this could just be a vicious rumour started by some low-rent blog maintained by some disenfranchised malcontent, but at the time of writing details are rather sketchy.

Wartime Cultural Sensitivity (Doggie Edition)

Image
This story is a few days old so forgive my tardiness. Inclusivity runs rampant at the Australian Defence Force as they issue a directive for the military dogs and their handlers to adhere to. "Cultural sensitivity" is the latest buzz-phrase employed by the ADF to make sure they won't get left behind in the push for a more progressive planet. In this case, it pertains to war and engaging with your foe. I guess the human side of the team could carry a supply of poop bags in case the canine side takes a dump on the enemy's sandpile, and of course if said dog happens to be female or MTF trans they can be decked out in a hijab or burqa depending on the level of extremist they face. Also, if the combatants our forces are facing are any way offended by the canine troops, i.e thinking that these noble beasts are dirty animals not worth a pork chop as a lot of these types invariably do, they can be left in the military vehicles as preparations are made to hand over a questionn...
