The Woolworths Trilogy: The Turnaround
What are you on about, you may ask. A trilogy? You may even scoff at the very notion. It's a loose connection, I will admit, and really only applies to this blog. The last two entries, Fractured Allegiance and Australia contain these two photographs. Both were a response by myself toward the attitude of the Fresh Food People toward Australia Day. Or more correctly, the upper brass who are in thrall to special interest groups who they consult and hand over their backbone in order to appear more inclusive, while alienating the majority. Something must have happened as a result of all this hoo-hah, with Woolworths going into damage control as the South African born CEO, Bradford Banducci, appeared on various programmes as well as taking out full page newspaper ads. I'm not saying business has been affected because of all this carry on, but the latest Woolworths catalogue has dropped, chock-full of mentions of Australia Day, so it seems to me they're running scared.
