January over, almost the new month (inspiration bereft, and nothing to say.) Will I be writing another blog entry or should I just be walking away?

A Brand New Year

Image
There are times it seems as if the world has been turned upside down, inside out, and left unattended on the nature strip for a neighbourhood dog to defecate upon,  and yet,  despite having all sorts of obstacles thrust toward us since time immemorial, humanity manages to find its way to the cookie jar to discover not everything has been stolen. Take care, and welcome to 2026.

Precognitive Warning

I've been having this recurring nightmare where that awful, awful blog will be returning in 2026

Merry Christmas

On this very day, December 25, for whatever category you may happen to fall into - whether it be religious, spiritual, secular, or humbug, may I extend my very best wishes.

Decolonising Santa

This entry refers to a piece written and published around two years ago, but has only now been picked up by some news organisations. Father Christmas is a white male, and therefore must be cancelled. ( source ) Being white, male, and heterosexual in the eyes of these progressive types puts you on a par with that guy who started WWII. Possibly worse. At least he's dead. Which is odd since they want to dictate to the rest of us how to live. Speaking of which, where do they come from? These university-bred bolshie wannabes whose stock in trade is trying to make people as miserable and as uptight as they themselves are. Their utopia is any thinking person's dystopia. Their hoped for future will precipitate our downfall. My hyperbole is starting to go into overdrive as I type. I suspect they were test-tube created in some dank hidden away laboratory located somewhere on school grounds, and then unleashed on an unsuspecting and ignorant populace when the football was on. I could be w...

Quarter Century Existential Blues

Image
Oh, the humanity! Not content with the struggle between man, machine and the existential crossroads we all find ourselves face-to-face with as technological advancements rampantly run pell-mell over the psyche of humanity with the force of a Cinnabon loving fattie bellyflopping into an overcrowded swimming hole, Time Magazine has, in all their infinite wisdom, decided to reward their Person of the Year 2025 award to Artificial Intelligence.

Rainbow Serpent on the Moon

It seems the taxpayer's hard earned funding of this nation's infrastructure is being funnelled into various areas of research which has no basis in merit or worth, each to a cool tune of around half a million dollars. Never mind the headline that graces this piece from The Daily Mail. Bad enough as that is, there's more grants being put forward into what seems to be the pursuit of the fundamentally useless. Money, if you can believe it, has been assigned to the study and examination of the equally pointless. From the article: "Monash University's Dr Emily van der Nage was awarded $525,650 to explore social, ethical and regulatory challenges in Australia's emerging social media pornography industry."  Is she going to set up an OnlyFans account, and report her findings?  Don't go blind, doctor. There are more. All of them ludicrous, such as the investigation of the possibility of channelling food waste into the building of roads. That one really takes th...

Highway Catastrophe

Image
This is the tale of a poor pussy who possibly managed to escape the talons of a predatory bald eagle, only to plummet downwards to unceremoniously kersplat through some hapless schmuck's windshield as they were motoring along, going about their business, blissfully unaware an earthbound feline was going to play a significant part in their immediate future. There isn't really much more to say, as my description is at least twice as long as the actual news story. The driver is unharmed, and as yet, no details on the cat's condition has been forthcoming. For more details on the admittedly pretty scarce details surrounding this story, please click on  >>>>>  this link  <<<<< or check out the two screenshots below:

Cinnagone

Image
Junk food aficionados are up in arms, waddling into Woolworths supermarkets flexing their girth and lack of restraint, with hapless employees having to confront their wrath at the supermarket's cake-lacking ways. "No Cinnabon for you, potential customer. Would you like an apple instead?", the conversation may play out followed by a slight recoil on the part of the consumer after the realisation has dawned the alternative offered may have a beneficial effect on their health.  This really isn't a news-worthy story, is it? It's more like a public notice from Woolworths advising people of stock scarcity. It has, however, been picked up by The Daily Mail, who aren't exactly renowned for their hard-hitting journalism. I have warned you about this story's lack of merit, haven't I? But if you do want to find out more, please click  >>>>>  this link  <<<<< or check out the screenshots below:
